This book was fabulous. I learned so much about this president, but the author was so good at making his story real. I won't forget this man or his accomplishments because I felt as if I had a window into his world.Product details

Theodore Roosevelt eBook Edmund Lester Pearson Reviews
Very good history book. I really enjoyed it.
I was halfway through the book, suspecting it was written a while ago, and sure enough the publication date was 1920.
But even more distracting was how opinionated his writing is...and quite antiquated to today's sensibilities. For example, Pearson applauded the reformer Emma Goldman being deported. Whatever a reader's political belief, this had NO place in a biography of Teddy Roosevelt.
Reading this slim volume was like reading an listing of accomplishments without the insight of a good historian. And there is scant mention of his children and family life that meant so much to him.
The writing is plodding, slow and the footnotes are distracting.

I was due to give a book review on Theodore Roosevelt "Mornings on Horseback." This book was a quick read and added some stories of his life that filled in the gaps.
Light on facts and events. Very heavy on opinion . This is a good, brief overview on Roosevelt's life but not very substantial.
This was a very interesting book about Theodore Roosevelt. In my opinion, the author does a wonderful job keeping the reader interested. I also learned a lot of things that I did not know about Theodore Roosevelt and his life!
This book is a great summary of the life of one of our great presidents. I only wish they had included a chapter on his legacy left to all Americans - the National Park Service. A truly great man. Well Written!!
Fairly well written book. However if you have read Roosevelt's autobiography you've read half of this book. Also, there is very little, if any, mention of his efforts to preseve our land.
This book was fabulous. I learned so much about this president, but the author was so good at making his story real. I won't forget this man or his accomplishments because I felt as if I had a window into his world.
